Tim Bogert (age 76) On Wednesday, January 13th we lost legendary bassist Tim Bogert founding and long time member of Vanilla Fudge and Cactus, along with Carmine Appice in both of those bands making up one of the baddest ass rhythm sections in rock. I had the pleasure of seeing Tim multiple times with Vanilla Fudge. Awesome bass player. He and Carmine also teamed up with Jeff Beck for the Beck, Bogert, Appice album in 1973 (great album) and if you can hunt it down the 2 disc Beck, Bogert, Appice live in Japan features some ridiculous jamming and some memorable bass jams by Bogert. we're not off to a good start this year
