The Musical Box and the Machine are stand out authentic tribute shows and probably the best I have ever seen.

Saw These guys saturday night they were really good.
The lead guitarist was very talented. They played all the
Eagles hits except I Can't Tell You Why. They also played Joe
Walsh's Rocky Mountain Way and Life's Been Good To Me.

Eh, Not Bad. I probably would have enjoyed that set. I've never really been big on the tribute bands cause, lets face it most of the time, not all but most of the time the vocals usually suck and are too far off base (I gave up on Rocky Mountain Way by that eagles band that was there within a minute and a half) the guy on at least those two Chicago songs did pretty good.

There's a few tribute bands that I've enjoyed over the years. The Musical Box Genesis tribute definitely, because Genesis no longer exists and even when they did in later years they weren't playin the good older material and that is what the Musical Box concentrated on.
The Machine (Pink Floyd tribute) because Pink Floyd no longer existed and neither Waters or Gilmore solo in my opinion did the old material as well as The Machine and The Machine played just about everything from Piper at the Gates to Division Bell but mostly classic material including Echoes, Dogs, Set The Controls...everything. At a fraction of the prices Water's and Gilmore charge.

This Chicago tribute would be another one. Both Chicago and Peter Cetera solo play it soft mostly and play all the love songs and mellow stuff. neither play the old stuff that I would want to hear and it sounds like these guys do. So that is a cool. Unless you catch original Chicago drummer Danny Seraphine live, I think he is playing a lot of the old material live these days with his band, your not gonna see that classic old Chicago stuff anymore unless a band like this does it.

But except for those, I'm not real gung ho on the tribute bands overall. I've even started to sour in recent years on all these bands that are limping along with one original member, or in some cases NONE lol. I've seen some of them and it's a stretch. Not to pick on them, but to just name one. You go see Foreigner...That's not Foreigner, that's the friggin Mick Jones Band. Same can be said of lots of similar bands out there.
