Haha, yeah. I never realized how much grandstanding Trunk did until the CMS talked about it. Todd does pretty well here, given how much Trunk interrupts him. And in a couple spots, you can hear Trunk try to interrupt him, but Todd just barrels through because he wants to finish what he's saying.

Here's that super long interview Todd did with The Metal Voice a couple weeks ago.

"That new singer is amazing, he is fantastic, he sounds just like me".  Glad to see that wine hasn't robbed him of his memory, since he hasn't sounded like that in how many years? but none the less, nice to see them able to be in the same room together with no spit or punches thrown. Rockenfield I assume was obviously not a part of that meeting.

On one hand, this is good to see because it breaks the ice a little bit in the event that in the not too distant future the band wanted to put out another compilation album, box set, or some type of re-master, anniversary edition or old live retrospective or something where both parties would need to correspond together and be able to have some peaceful dealings, which would be to the benefit of the fans, and also perhaps make them a couple bucks. so that is good.

The down side is it will stoke the flames of reunion talk, and I for one, want no parts of that anytime soon. Things are going too well with the band right now, album #3 is in the works, hopefully a live package not too far off in the distance as well, and it has been five years of a nice return to a happier, harder edged Queensryche again.

The only way I would be onboard with a reunion with Geoff at this point, is if it was a real short stint, like the one that Dokken just did, a few shows or maybe even a short tour leg with the end result being that the Todd lineup would reconvene afterwards and continue on as they did prior to said reunion. The only reason I even entertain the idea of that much of a reunion, is because I think we all know that the longer time passes, Geoff will not be able to pull it off any longer probably. The key to that ever happening is Todd and Parker have to be onboard with it, and they must regroup afterwards. I do not need or want a new record with Geoff, if it is gonna be in the same vein as the last four with him (I'm counting Take Cover) and I'm sure it would be. No Thanks. If they really wanted the extra payday for some type of reunion, it needs to be a short brief one. but I actually am ok, as long as Todd plans on sticking around for quite a while, if it never happens. I'm content to enjoy each of their music separately and individually and not combined together.

Also here is another recent interview with Whip in France at Hellfest with United Rock Nations.

I actually read that as Geoff Tate being far more complimentary to himself and less so towards the band. To me it reads: "The band needed to get someone that sounds exactly like me, because really what else are they gonna do." That said, cool that they weren't complete assholes to one another.

Here's TLT's take of the encounter:

And Burl Ives (Geoff Tate), perhaps there is a Christmas album in his future  :D he's got the look down, made that same comment again regarding the situation, so I agree Rock, he's being more complimentary to himself for sure. but at least he didn't have the nerve to try to say Todd sucked, he obviously is aware the guy can sing circles around him at this stage of the game.

I'm posting it here cause falls in with the conversation. I know it's in the wrong spot as it is a Tate and not Queensryche interview.

I hadn't noticed it before, but here's Tate from two different interviews:

"That singer is fantastic. He's amazing. He sounds just like me."
http://loudwire.com/geoff-tate-crosses-paths-queensryche-spain-todd-la-torre-fantastic-vocalist/

"He's a great singer. He's fantastic. He sounds just like me."
http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/geoff-tate-on-meeting-todd-la-torre-we-did-a-selfie-together-does-that-mean-were-dating/

Now I know that when musicians do a run of interviews, they have their little bag of tricks they tend to pull out ("NO LIMITS" anyone?), but surprise surprise it looks like Geoff Tate is still a fucking tool. This makes me think even more that Geoff's praise towards Todd is a crock of shit. I'm sure you can look for this little nugget to show up as some inbetween song banter story on his next tour.

Interview with Whip by Mike Gaube's Headbangers at the Phoenix show. With a Roadrunner sighting during the interview for good measure lol.
