Saw Yes Featuring Anderson Rabin and Wakeman Saturday night
at Patriot theater In Trenton. Great concert they played And You and I
Heart of the Sunrise,Changes, Rythem of Love,Hold On,Owner of a Lonely Heart
Roundabout and a few others. Crowd was standing after every song.

Here's a couple recent clips:

Sounds like that was a great show, I toyed right up till the end debating whether to go to that one but ended up not pursuing it. I'll have to check out those clips and see if any full shows pop up on you tube.

Saw some good bands tonight at Rosenhayn Harvest Festival.
2 tribute bands i will try to put something up on tribute thread.
Introduction The Chicago Experience was very good excellent guitar
player and vocalist and band with full horn section. They only cover
Chicago's heavy years from 1968-1978 and they played all the good stuff
I'm A Man, I Just Want To Be Free,South California Purples,25 or 6 to 4,
Lowdown,Beginnings,Colour My World,Happy Man,Make Me Smile and many
others.
Next up was Idol Kings and they played a full set of Journey Songs and were
very good.
Then John Ford Coley originally from England Dan and John Ford Coley (England
Dan Seals died in 2009 from Lymphoma)  He was very good.

Nights Are Forever Without You - England Dan & John Ford Coley

Then Rock Hall of Fame member Terry Sylvester of the Hollies played a set of
Hollies hits He Ain't Heavy,Just One Look,The Air That I Breathe,Bus Stop, On A
Carousel and Long Cool Woman in A Black Dress.

The Hollies The Air That I Breathe  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wACCgCCjRc

Then closing the show was Denny Laine former original member of the Moody Blues
and Paul Mccartney and Wings who played a couple of his songs then Go Now which
he originally sang and played on with the Moody Blues and some of The songs from
his days with Wings including Live and Let Die and Band On The Run.
They were all very good.

I was looking into that one too, I didn't think the lineup was that strong this year. I would have liked that Chicago tribute band though.

I grabbed a ticket to Michael Schenker Fest at the TLA in March. This lineup features four vocalist's that Michael has worked with all on the same stage. Gary Barden, Graham Bonnet (ex Rainbow), Robin McCauley, and Doogie White (ex Rainbow, Yngwie Malmsteen).
IGDV, you may be interested in this one, I believe the band consists of a few guy's you kinda like a little bit... Chris Glenn and Ted McKenna from Alex Harvey Band

Sunday March 11th at the TLA on South Street is the Michael Schenker fest show. That's where we saw The Musical Box that time, with one ass cheek out the fuckin front door lol. But I just saw UFO/Saxon there last month and Queensryche there last year. Don't worry it won't be as mobbed as that Musical Box show was. That was a rarity  :D

I just grabbed tickets for two shows next year:

Anthrax with Killswitch Engage
Weird Al (the "Ill-Advised Vanity Tour") with Emo Phillips

I don't think I've heard a single Killswitch tune. Gonna have to remedy that. Or not.

I saw the Trans-Siberian Orchestra last week (12/3). Always cool to see every few years or so. If we can't have a reunited version of Savatage, this is probably the best we can ask for.  :)

Be that as it may, at least TSO is always reasonably priced for an arena gig. It's definitely worth seeing at least once if you get the chance. 3.5 out of five stars.  8)

I saw Fates Warning a few nights ago (1/12) and was very impressed. It was my first time seeing them, and actually spoke to bassist Joey Vera. He does double duty with Armored Saint as well. Overall, I'd give it 3.5 to 4 stars.

Like Testament, I can understand why some feel that Fates Warning are at a creative peak currently. Roughly 100 people showed up, however, the band played as if there were 10,000.  8)

Here's the 17-song set list:

From The Rooftops
Life In Still Water
One
A Pleasant Shade Of Gray (pt. 3)
Seven Stars
SOS
Handful of Doubt
Firefly
The Light and Shade Of Things   (NOTE: this was arguably the highlight of the set! Great song.)
A Pleasant Shade Of Gray (pt. 9)
A Pleasant Shade Of Gray (pt. 11)
The Ivory Gate Of Dreams: VII Acquiescence
The Eleventh Hour
Point Of View

Encore:

Through Different Eyes
Monument
Eye To Eye

Pretty jealous of you seeing Fates Warning, O:Q. I've never seen those guys live and I reckon I never will, at least not in my neck of the woods. I'd have to travel likely to the States if I wanted to see them.

I'm off to see Maiden Manitoba (now Maiden Canada - I guess they're growing?) tomorrow night. I missed seeing the Iron Maidens last week, and the real Maiden doesn't come to our town anymore, so Maiden Canada is the next best thing.

I might go check out Pennywise and Strung Out in March. Haven't been to a good punk show in awhile.

I did score tickets to see comedian Chris D'Elia in a couple weeks. We finally found a babysitter, so my wife and I can actually go see something together for once. Should be a fun night.

Wow, Fates Warning is only drawing 100 people after their last very strong record, that is lame.

Saw Fates last year, great set, maybe 300 folks there (500 cap club).  Going to see Armored Saint later this summer.

Caught The Iron Maidens a few months ago, only caught half their set due to a clusterfuck getting back to our vehicle after a US-Germany rugby match (US won).  Great show, love that Iron Maiden is cool with them and most of the band have seen them play and Nicko has jammed with them.

The Michael Schenker Fest is a great concept.  Starts off with an instrumental then each of the singers come out in chronological order to do a few songs then a solo before the next singer comes out.  Barden sounds good and is a good frontman. Was really cool to see Bonnet do his MSG songs with Michael as he never toured with MSG after his album was done.  Then McCauley killed it, always liked his voice.  Then they trade off vocals for the last set song and the two encores.  Ted McKenna was amazing on drums and I cant say enough good things about Chris Glen.  And Steve Mann filled in the sound as well as Paul Raymond on guitars keys and backing vocals.  Everyone was laughing and smiling on stage.  Great vibe.  I think Doogie White will be on the US leg this year along with the other three so try to catch it if you can.

Upcoming shows this year for me:

Saxon
Myrath (great prog metal band Tunisian some great Arab melodies in their music)
Pretty Maids/Pink Cream 69
Brian Downey's Alive and Dangerous
Magnum
Martin Barre (former Jethro Tull guitarist)
Skid Row
Judas Priest
Ramblin Man Fair (Maidstone UK) featuring Sons Of Apollo, Halestorm, The Cult, Fish, Steel Panther, Steve Earle, Gov't Mule
Armored Saint
Mr Big/Fozzy
Nightwish

Great to see Armored Saint making it over to Europe. Wonder if they have an east coast US leg here this year. I'll have to check into that. They did a tour leg with Queensryche here last year.

Looks like just a half dozen or so at this point for Armored Saint, first ever South America dates and a few Germany listed.
