Hydra was a southern rock band formed in the late sixties by Spencer Kirkpatrick (guitar), Wayne Bruce  (vocals/guitar), and Steve Pace (drums). Playing around the Atlanta, Georgia area. They released three albums Hydra (1974) and Land of Money (1975) on Capricorn Records and Rock the World (1977) before breaking up in 1977. They reunited in 2005 for two shows and Hydra: Live After All These Years was released. Steve Pace went on to later play with Whitford/St. Holmes and Krokus in 1983 on the bands Headhunter album. They have been regarded as the first heavy southern rock band.

The vocals are a little like early Glenn Hughes and Steve Marriot to my ears. Check them out.
