Didn't realize these guys go back that far, also didn't realize they had two other singers besides Cronin. Here's a few great songs that are among my top picks from them.

Gary Richrath was a great guitar player and song writer. Sadly another one that was lost last year. Never got to see him live, In my opinion they lost much of their harder rocking edge after he left.

Here are a few older tracks that most fans of REO Speedwagon's commercial hits probably never heard of.

From the first album, with a much more prog flavor and original singer Terry Luttrell
Dead At Last: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YhLl1adfhI
157 Riverside Avenue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UGPp3yPe1s
Sophisticated Lady: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Jx0oIEh5Ro

Kevin Cronin joined replacing Luttrell after this album for REO 2, but he left during the recording of their third album Riding The Storm Out, which led to Mike Murphy's three album stint fronting the band before Cronin returned for good in 1976.

And Michael Jackson's Beat It, especially the guitar solo intro was a damn near direct copy of Back on The Road Again's riff which was released in 1979, three years before Jackson's thriller.

Take a listen, to my ears, I guess EVH musta been a Gary Richrath fan lol
