Stickin this one in here too after just posting it in the Moody Blues thread. This song deserves recognition and to be heard. Probably my all time favorite Moody's song.

Aphrodite's Child

This was a short lived (1968-1972) Greek progressive band that released three albums. Formed by Vangelis Papathanassiou (keyboards), Demis Roussos (bass, vocals), Loukas Siderus (drums, vocals), and Silver Koulouris (guitar). Their third and last album 1972's 666- based on the Bibles "Book of Revelation " is considered their masterwork and one of rock music's first concept albums, catching the attention of many prog rock bands attention, including Jon Anderson from Yes who later go on to collaborate with Vangelis, who was the best known member of this group.

Here are some of the highlights of that record.

The Battle of the Locust- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHpcMtJk96g&index=13&list=PLxSjpqxdE1IlOk9pHZfF_I6UliH6DQGBX
The Capture of the Beast- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XnoQIgEw1Nk&index=20&list=PLxSjpqxdE1IlOk9pHZfF_I6UliH6DQGBX
All the Seats were Occupied- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukRcT7JTw0A&list=PLxSjpqxdE1IlOk9pHZfF_I6UliH6DQGBX&index=23

Pretty interesting album for 1972. Worth giving it a spin, here is the full double album.

I don't know that I would classify them as prog, Beat Club obviously thought so. I heard more of a Grand Funk meets Steppenwolf vibe. But they kick some ass when they jam. Great stuff. Make up a thread for them IGDV if you are so inclined, They look like they made several albums and had some spin off bands.

I stumbled onto this one, again with Cippollina in the band.

If you make a thread for them, I'll merge these two posts into that thread.  8)

Here's a strange bunch

Gong
Magdalene-  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LaAW8ecz694
Radio gnome invisible 1- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3Cc61sj7pM
You can't kill me- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPaAF9--k7Y

Gong was kinda strange, Sorta going for a weirder version of Arthur Brown vibe I'm guessing. their guitar player Steve Hillage went on to do some good stuff though. I was going to put some stuff up in here, but F**k it, I'll make a thread for him in the guitar gods area  :D

This is from the Neal Morse Band, this song is kind of a text book of prog playing...Genesis meets Queen meets Kansas but you decide and check out more if you like.
