They Recorded 2 albums and then disbanded.   After the band split, Page and Rodgers returned to solo work while Chris Slade joined AC/DC and Franklin teamed up with guitarist John Sykes in Blue Murder.

The Power Station was a supergroup formed by Robert Palmer, Tony Thompson (of Chic) and Andy and John Taylor from Duran Duran. They came together in 1984 to record a one-off album, as a respite from the relentless global touring and promotion of Duran Duran.

Here is a couple from Europe. Europe is a Swedish rock band formed in Upplands Väsby, Stockholm in 1979 under the name Force by vocalist Joey Tempest, guitarist John Norum, bassist Peter Olsson and drummer Tony Reno. Since its formation, Europe has released ten studio albums, three live albums, three compilations and nineteen videos. These songs were recorded in the 80's.

Off the top of my head I'll pick three of the greatest singles of the 80s that definitely hold up today.

'Time After Time'- Cyndi Lauper (From 1983's 'She's So Unusual')

'Holding Back The Years'- Simply Red (From 1985's 'Picture Book')

'The Way It Is'- Bruce Hornsby & The Range (From 1986's 'The Way It Is')

Fun fact: regarding 'Holding Back The Years' it was 30 years ago this month (7/12/86) it hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles charts. A timeless classic!

All three of those we're good songs. Mick Hucknall of Simply Red was a pretty good singer, always wondered why they didn't have any other big hits, I believe that was their only big hit, but it was a big one.

So many of those songs are permanently stuck in my head from the 80's in large part due I think to MTV, that and the radio stations that played the top hits seemed to always play the same songs over and over.
