Robert Hazard who I've seen 3 Times

Robert Hazard, born Robert Rimato, (August 21, 1948 August 5, 2008), was an American musician known for composing and recording the song "Girls Just Want to Have Fun", which Cyndi Lauper covered, turning the song into a best-selling hit. He also composed the 1980s new wave and MTV hits, "Escalator of Life" and "Change Reaction", which he performed with his band, Robert Hazard and the Heroes, which was popular in the Philadelphia club scene during the 1980s. These songs appeared on the five song EP Robert Hazard, released in 1982.Hazard's first major-label album, Wing of Fire, was released by RCA Records in January 1984.

Hazard died at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston on August 5, 2008 after surgery for pancreatic cancer, with which he had recently been diagnosed. He was living with his wife and two sons near Old Forge, New York, at the time of his death. He also is survived by a daughter.

Spiral Staircase-More Today Than Yesterday  RIP Pat Upton  7/27/2016
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YuqHlv1YPe0

Pat Upton, an Alabama native who toured and composed with the group "Spiral Starecase," died today at the age of 75.

Upton, a native of Geraldine, also was on stage for the final show of Ricky Nelson, the 50s TV star and 60s pop star who played his final gig at Upton's club in Guntersville before his plane crashed.

Upton grew up in Geraldine, and performed with his brothers in a gospel group. While in the Air Force, he joined a band that evolved into Spiral Starecase (the name borrowed from a movie of that era, and intentionally misspelled) that had had the hit "More Today Than Yesterday" in 1969. The song peaked at 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart that year and earned a gold disc.

After the band broke up, Upton went back to being a session musician and later played guitar on Nelson's last album. Nelson asked him to join a tour to promote the record.

"It was going to be two or three months," Upton said in a 2013 interview with AL.com. "It wound up being nearly four years."

Nelson played his final concert in Guntersville, on Dec. 30, 1985. He performed at PJ's Alley, which Upton owned. On the night of the final show, Nelson asked Upton to fly with him to Dallas. But Upton was too busy with his club. He took Nelson and Helen to the airport, ran an errand, then returned and had one last good-bye.

"I just try not to dwell on it," he later said of the evening.

After the show, Nelson and his band loaded a DC-3 at Guntersville Airport en route to Dallas, where he had a New Year's Eve booking. Four hours into the flight, the plane crashed, killing Nelson, his fiancee Helen and five members of his band.

William Royce Scaggs (known professionally as Boz Scaggs; born June 8, 1944) is an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He gained fame in the 1960s as a guitarist and one-time lead singer with the Steve Miller Band, and in the 1970s with several solo Top 20 hit singles in the United States, including the hits "Lowdown" and "Lido Shuffle" from the critically acclaimed album Silk Degrees (1976), which peaked at #2 on the Billboard 200. Scaggs continues to write, record music, and tour.
