I saw Great White (with Terry Ilous) play at a casino with Slaughter in 2014 and I thought they sounded awesome. I remember being particularly impressed with Terry's voice on "Save Your Love."

The show made me think of Queensryche in a way. I know very little from Great White except for maybe a half dozen tunes from the 80s. I'd heard about the fire in 2003, and how Jack Russell was now fronting his own version of the band, but that's about it. And it made me think about how that's probably a good portion of the type of person that goes to see a Queensryche show (contrary to what some diehard QR fans would like to believe). Thoughts?

I never cared much for Terry fronting the band, I gave him an at least fair chance to impress me, didn't happen. I like Jack a lot and I like the band very much but I wouldn't put them up there with the same magnitude as Queensryche or among my major favorites. Therefore I'm a little less tolerable when it comes to a replacement singer with them. for instance if Tate hadn't lost his voice (and his mind) it would be much harder to adapt to a vocalist change in Queensryche. Jack still has it, so it makes it more difficult in my perspective.

Here is a good interview with Jack that just came out.

Ok, The Terry Ilous lineup got my ears perked up with this new tune, This sounds like a throwback Great White song. Pretty good fuckin tune. musically this sounds like classic Great White and the vocals are good enough for my liking.

I actually like it, pretty good song. Jeb at classic rock Revisited certainly agrees with ya lol as indicated in the following review, in fact after reading his review  :-\ I'm very anxious to hear the rest of the record. But that song was pretty good.

Jack's lineup is celebrating the 30th anniversary of Once Bitten with a US tour and acoustic album.

Jack Russell's Great White, Lady Red Light from the upcoming new release "Once Acoustically bitten"

Sounds good to my ears. Terry can't do the old songs justice as far as I'm concerned. Jack is right at home and these songs are his, and he still can sing pretty damn well and hasn't lost much. That makes all the difference.

On the strength of the three band package. This would probably be a decent show and sell somewhat respectably. This is what Kingdom Come should have done. Package themselves with a few other bands to grab some die hard fans from three different bands to help sell some tickets.

This is interesting, Great White trying not to be one up'd by Ratt, apparently parts ways with Terry Ilous via email. Didn't see that one coming but I don't think he was all that well regarded by the old school Great White fans so I suppose a change was inevitable, despite how steadfastly they backed and stood behind the guy for so long. His replacement Mitch Malloy doesn't sound to me like somebody who is going to want to stick around all that long looking at his background and credentials, we shall see.

This new singer Mitch Malloy is a little over dramatic and cheesy and wears more fucking makeup than Paris Hilton but he does sound a hell of a lot better than Terry Ilous I must say.

When did Hilary Clinton join the band on keyboards? I must have missed that announcement  ;D >:D

Mitch Malloy - Van Halen's lost boy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxF4WRORQ9s

I remembered his name from the video above.  Always wondered why he never surfaced somewhere else.

Really my interest in GW has been low.  Last great album is still IMO Sail Away.  But Malloy sounds decent.  Much better than Terry IMO.  Be interesting to see if they do an album with him.

Great White are playing my town again next week with Slaughter. I'm pretty sure I'm going to pass on it. I had a good time at the last one, but I'm a way bigger fan of Slaughter than I am of Great White, and last time they were here Slaughter was technically the opener and only played like 6 or 7 songs. I'm not sure the switch from Terry to Mitch is enough of a draw for me. I thought Terry was an odd fit for the band, but I really enjoyed his performance.

Jack is putting out three new albums in the near future, one being Great Zeppelin 2 featuring some different tunes than the first set had, also an acoustic performance of the whole Once bitten album and a new studio album, all under the Jack Russell's Great White moniker. Look forward to hearing all three.
