Fleetwood Mac
« on: October 26, 2015, 06:05:44 PM »
Fleetwood Mac has a long storied career beginning as a Blues band formed in 1967 and showcasing Peter Green and Danny Kirwan. Then transitioning to the dual guitar of Danny Kirwan and Jeremy Spencer while then adding Bob Welch as lead singer before becoming the household name they are today featuring Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham. There's some great material from every incarnation of this bands existence.

Fleetwood Mac are re- releasing the first album with Nicks and Buckingham, 1975's self titled album re-mastered and containing a bunch of studio outtakes and live stuff from 1976. This should be a worthy pickup  8)

This is an odd bit of news. Fleetwood Mac have fired Lindsay Buckingham, How the hell do ya fire Lindsay Buckingham? lol. He wrote or co wrote some of the bands biggest hits in their most successful period. That should be interesting. They have hired two replacement guitarists to replace him on the upcoming tour. Mike Campbell from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers (that is a solid replacement) and Neil Finn of Crowded House.

Again it takes two guitarists to replace him like the last time he left in 87.

Black Magic Woman (yeah it's a Peter Green tune)

According to everything I've seen on the internet this upcoming tour is to be their farewell tour, if that is the case given their long history, it must have been some serious bad blood that boiled up to make them part ways with Lindsay right before starting a farewell tour. Is Bob Welch still around lol? shit if it's the farewell tour they should bring some old past members out as guests anyway.

Upon looking into that, nah... Along with Peter Green, Bob Welch is no longer with us, nor is Bob Weston, and Danny Kirwin has been inactive for years. Jeremy Spencer is still around and performing though  8)
