Cinderella

Talented band, Great live band. Unfairly lumped in as strictly a hair metal band for the most part. This band always had so much more to offer, unfortunately their output was minimal considering how long they've been around.

Some classics:

Yeah.

Do think however they remained labelled as 'hair band' (hate that term but we all know it for what it is) because of the OTT glam they portrayed with their debut (the questionable attire displayed on the cover art achieved that alone right?)

But thankfully by sophomore Long Cold Winter we were blessed with a tastier meatier supposed 'grass roots' rock n' roll album and a great one at that! (reading old Kerrang mags and boy did they put the gloves on for that record and subsequent interviews with Keifer :( and they weren't the only one's either, even Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson has commented about their supposed lack of credibility)

But of course a good record is (usually) just that, and Long Cold Winter was IMO ahead of its time so far as that particular genre went, and far broader reaching than the debut.  Do think they took the grass roots swagger n' roll 'check out our dusty boots' a tad too far with Heartbreak Station and lost some heaviness in the process, but no denying they stuck to their guns (to keep things genre appropriate there) and good songs being good songs and all...

Anyway, label wranglings, throat issues, flannelette shirts and shorts stalled their momentum and it is what it is (was ;)).

LCW is more bluesier than it's predecessor and also it didn't hurt to have Cozy Powell drum on the record either.

I have the first album and had a greatest hits.

First album is just awesome and has some of the better hair metal songs from the 80s on it.  Nobodys Fool is just pure classic.

I could never fully get into everything else, a little too bluesy.

But cool band though.

Tom needs to get his ass back out on the road with Cinderella!
There is no way they can really replace him and go out without him, I don't think it could work. So essentially Tom is the only thing holding back this great band from performing. Ratt has tried, The Poison guys are trying, I just couldn't see it working for Cinderella to go that route. Tom needs to split his time and give Cinderella some attention.

Great interview with Eric Brittingham;

I'm in total agreement with jjrock88. I really like that first album and everything else is fine, but just a little too bluesy for my tastes. In addition to the hits, Nuthin' for Nuthin' from the first album is one of my faves.
That Man/Machine Imperfection guy didn't post too much, but he was pretty much always right.

As a Big Cinderella fan. This interview with Jeff Labar sucks. Apparently he is the  reason they aren't touring anytime soon, and likely may not tour again, but at least he owns up to it and put this out there.

I picked up his solo album from a few years ago not too long ago, pretty good shit.

Still no Cinderella action or talk thereof. Keifer starting work on his next solo record and continues solo tour.
