I have always liked Manowar but as the years went on, I got more and more tired of Joey's schtick.  I saw them twice in the Ross The Boss timeframe and hard rocking sets both times more bombast less Joey ranting.

They found their niche over in Europe especially Germany and Eastern Europe.

Eric Adams still has it and would be more respected as one of the better metal vocalists if it wasnt for being in Manowar.

Seen them three times now since 2012.  Once during their very short US tour in Pamona, CA.  I read on forums that they seemed to have an equipment malfunction every night of that tour.  And it happened in Pamona.  One of the amps went out.  Joey then comes out saying that it needs to be replaced and then goes on to tell us how much money everything costs and that all they sound gear is built in house and no expense is spared for the Manowar fans.  I was standing above the FOH area and as soon as things went pop with the amp, both the sound and light guy each pulled out their dinners and started eating lol.  Later Joey goes on his scheduled rant about death to false metal screwing women, etc.

I have seen them twice in Germany now.  Pretty intense crowd singing the songs as you wait in line to get into the venue.  Pretty much everyone was wearing something that had the Manowar logo on it and deep lines at the merch stands.  I'll give Joey props for milking his core market.  At the end of the set as feedback blows out the PA for about 5 minutes, Joey goes thru this whole ritual of ripping each string off of his bass, rolling it up, then giving it to someone in the audience (usually some woman, as he does the tongue flick between V'd fingers, he just comes across as a creepy Italian guy now that hes in his mid 60s).

There's some chirping here and there that there may be some US dates announced soon. I saw a few people online making mention of it.

Ross the Boss just released one of the songs from that new album DE made mention of. I don't know who this singer is but some major Halford like vocals on this and this guy could definitely do some justice to the Manowar catalog I think, He just played around here last month, now I'm sorry I didn't make an effort to go. Check this out.
Mark Lopes is the singers name.

Fuck Yeah, this is good. Here is a full set of Ross's band with that singer.

Well, maybe I would rode a bike  ;D

Here is some looks at recent shows from the bands Final Battle Farewell World Tour that have been posed up so far. Some better than others quality wise. I don't care what anybody says I've always really liked this band they have some really good shit. The one show I managed to catch of them in Philly some years back was one of the best metal concerts I've ever attended. It is a damn shame these guys never really caught on domestically here in the US. They have a much bigger fan base elsewhere around the world and deservedly so. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like their ego's and pride are going to allow them to suck it up and play any sparsely attended shows in the US on this farewell and if they do it will be very few, which sucks because I wanted to see them again. I guess I'll have to enjoy it from afar via you tube.

Kings of Metal: Russia I think  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-O9uunmkM0

Warriors of the World: 3/3/19 Russia  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQM46qDh17g

Full show or most of it. I think this is in Israel, but I can't read the writing  :D
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ReGvnuNwDaE

Sons of Odin: I think this is Russia
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_o3L2GFWHs

Warriors of the World: better quality and video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nXdY1QGpfQk

And I'll post this one again, just because it's one of the greatest songs I've ever heard. I've loved it since it was released. Very inspirational song, this song always resonates as the ultimate song of encouragement. Eric Adams is criminally underrated as a vocalist.

I never really listened to much other than Kings of Metal and The Triumph of Steel, but goddamn are those albums ever amazing. And "Master of the Wind" is such a fun song to sing along to.

HAIL.
The problem is that you are correct.

Here are a few really cool live versions of Heart of Steel.

Portugal 1999: live footage  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHGHAkFUPr0
Hell on Stage live audio version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4u_jmqyvgiI

Philadelphia, PA: this is probably the show I attended https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvgGJlJEpPQ

Here are a few cover versions on you tube that I thought were cool.

The first is by two sisters from Bulgaria, the younger that does the first section being only seven years old. So cool to see young fans that know and like this song. I love the sincere stare and emotion she puts into this. Pretty cool.

The second one here is a guy doing a version on a TV show in another country somewhere with Joey DeMaio as a guest watching.
