Lizzy Borden

Criminally under rated and under appreciated band from the 80's LA scene that never got the mainstream success deserved, although they did come close with Visual Lies during the MTV and Headbanger's Ball era. They have continued to release some great material and tour ever since and are still at it.

Along with Armored Saint, one of the most underrated metal bands ever.

Not sure what the hold up is with releasing something new.  Its been years since Appointment with Death, which was awesome.

Murderess Metal Show is a great live release.

Love the Murderous Metal Roadshow DVD. All their stuff is good but Love You To Pieces and Deal With The Devil are probably my fave's. They haven't been touring much lately which leads me to believe they must be working on new material. I think once Dario Lorino left to join Black Label Society I think that put the brakes on things and they had to get Ira Black back in to do the tour last year. Don't know if Ira is permanent or just a temp fix but hopefully they are working on new material.

I would put Love You to Pieces as my favorite

Just one of the defining 80s metal albums and "American Metal" is such an anthem.

Just over the top theatrical metal at its best- simular to WASP.

This article doesn't make a whole hell of a lot of sense. But Lizzy has signed a new deal with Metal Blade records, so a new disc is apparently on the way this year. Very confusing as to whether this is for solo records or the supposed current band. It makes it sound like it is a solo record, but then the other material in the catalog is mentioned as if it is a band project/contract. Regardless I'm quite sure Joey will be playing drums and Lizzy will be singing and writing the material. The guitar players have been musical chairs in recent years since Alex Nelson passed, so unless they have parted ways with Marten Anderson, I think it is safe to then call it Lizzy Borden the band. anyway before I confuse myself any further, I can't wait for the new material, It's been a long wait.  ;D

I can gladly say that I had a rock star at my wedding.... Alex Nelson who was Lizzy's guitarist was at my wedding and did my flowers for it...great guy he's sorely missed. RIP Alex :(

Yes He is (sorely missed) and that was VERY cool.

Me and Matty had the pleasure of hangin out with and partyin with the band on their tour bus on the Deal With The Devil Tour in Baltimore. I got pictures with all of them but Joey just made passing appearances coming out for drinks, he stayed in his little bedroom area most of our time on the bus. Lizzy was awesome and was approachable and engaged us in music talk. But Alex and Marten were the coolest, most down to earth humble dudes and we're fun and a blast to hang out with. Being a huge Lizzy Borden fan since pretty much day one in the early 80's I'll never forget it. I've had meet and greet with Queensryche on the Tribe tour, and met the classic Iron Butterfly lineup, and several other bands but hangin with the Lizzy Borden guys for a couple hours was the ultimate.

Great show THAT was, Starland Ballroom Deal With The Devil Tour. opened for Yngwie and actually outdid him that night, so much so I believe they were booted from the tour shortly after.  :D
