I just looked at the setlists.  Sabaton's set was standard for them, and I'm happy to see a song from Heroes that I've been dying to see them play.

Delain's setlist irritates me for only playing songs from two particular records and not throwing in an older tune at all.

Nightwish's setlist really surprised me - there are two or three songs that they played and one or two that they omitted, all of which I wouldn't expect.   I'm excited to see them, but if they did leave a particular song out, I'm really surprised.  I guess they feel it's time for a break with that one....and they had to make room in the set for new material.

It just means that I didn't expect Nightwish to drop one of their popular songs in favor of the older songs that they played.  Since I've never seen them, I was looking forward to hearing that one.  Oh well.

I think it's a pretty good setlist, given the fact that they can't just continue to play only songs from Wishmaster/Century Child/Once.  They have lots of albums to represent, plus the new album, which is obviously the focus.  To me, the set is similar to Showtime, Storytime.  Some of the songs remained, while others were replaced by new songs, or one or two very old ones.

I just checked it out. One of what I really wanted is in there. One isn't. I'll survive. ;)

Love how it combines a performance video and a lyric video.  And it's a rocking song!

They might have a big tank on stage in Europe, but I guess this will have to do in the US.  :)

The outfit made the video! ;)

They just announced a bunch of tour dates in the U.S. for 2016 on Facebook...bigger venues, from the looks of it.

I was at this show. I didn't even notice that was a tank (I was in the back of the venue). I was amazed at the crowd. Usually, the place doesn't fill in all that well for the opening acts, usually the biggest part of the crowd is people wanting to get their positions for the headliner (it is a GA facility). The place was full as if opener Delain was the headliner, and the crowd responded as if they were. All three bands were treated like headliners from the crowd. I really enjoyed Delain's set and picked up a few of their CDs in my travels since they didn't have any for sale at the merch table.

It was also my first time seeing Sabaton, but I did have that live CD/DVD thing they released last year. It was ok. Wasn't expecting much, but they put on a great, high energy and entertaining show, including doing a slight snippet of and getting the crowd to do the YMCA. Totally amusing! I don't know that I would ever listen to their music on a regular basis, but I would definitely see them live again. They were a blast. I did support them on the merch side with a pick-up of their new CD, prompted by the comment of them thanking our fathers/grandfathers because without them "we would probably be speaking German right now" (a nod to D-Day and the U.S. soldiers from WWII). It was nice to hear foreigners actually appreciating what we do for a change, so I grabbed a CD from their merch table.

It was my first time seeing Nightwish with Floor Jansen and I was very impressed by her. "Showtime, Storytime" really didn't connect with me (I came into the Nightwish scene with Dark Passion Play and I did enjoy Annette's vocals, in some ways preferring them to Floor's and definitely more than Tarja's) but Floor proved she was much more than capable as a singer and a lot more versatile when it comes to singing Tarja's material. I am sold. Great show overall.
