Here is another new song and video from the new album. Not a classic by any stretch, but a catchy little tune none the less. Pretty cool and funny video, I sense they're poking a little fun at themselves with this song. I like it, especially along with the context of the video, nicely done.

These old guys can definitely still jam. Granted Gillan has some vocal constraints due to his age. Bloodsucker from In Rock is one of my all time favorites from them. Here is a version of it from this year at Hellfest 2017

Here is a bad ass version of it from the BBC sessions 1970  8)

I guess this is sort of related :P
I just saw Glenn Hughes Performs Classic Deep Purple Live and holy shit was that awesome :D
Now, admittedly, I only know 3-4 Deep Purple songs, and 2 of them were played tonight. But this show rocked! Glenn's voice is without a doubt fascinating, as the guy is singing like a dude in his 20s as if there was no tomorrow C:-)
If you have a chance to catch the show, don't miss out!

Glenn still has the pipes, he and Coverdale are both 66, while Gillan has a few years on them at 72, Glenn is far and away currently the best of the three. If Purple doesn't want to do any shows with Blackmore largely because of Gillan. If Gillan should be the first to call it a career the rest of them should do a Coverdale/Hughes reunion with or without Blackmore. That would be fun.

Glenn and Coverdale have both been doing a lot of purple material in recent years. Very cool to see cause Purple doesn't play much if anything from those three Coverdale/Hughes records.

Absolutely related as Glenn sang and played bass on Deep Purple's Burn, Stormbringer and Come Taste the Band albums, in addition to a few live records Made In Europe and Last Concert in Japan. Very happy to hear as I caught wind of that tour myself and picked up a ticket today for the Wilmington, DE show August 31. Great chance to see Glenn handle the vocals on those songs and he still sounds good. I don't recognize anybody he has in this touring lineup but they are capable and will get tighter as the tour progresses. Can't wait for this show.

Here is a glimpse of what to expect on that tour.

Well there's Glenn, and 2 Danes on Hammond organ, and guitar :)
Then there's a 25 year old "kid" from Chile, who was discovered in the 11th hour, and flew to Denmark 4 days ago to meet the band and (amybe) rehearse a bit with them. Glenn said that until then, the kid had never spoken a word of English, but maybe that was a joke. I don't know. But everyone worked their asses off >:D
He also mentioned that they hadn't rehearsed, so who knows ;D
