Just says "taking care of personal business". Great replacement for the dates though that should be cool.

Agreed. Hopefully it's nothing serious with Parker, though I'm sure Mike will step up to the plate just fine in his absence.  :)

I passed up a show in July because they added Jason Bonham to the bill and didn't want to see Ryche do a 30 minute set.  So, I was glad to see only Ryche and Scorps on the 8/31 Tahoe bill and what did I get?  A fucking 30 minute set... 8 songs: Best I Can, Breaking the Silence, Silent Lucidity, Empire, Queen of the Ryche, Jet City Woman, Screaming in Digital, and Eyes of Stranger.

Seriously?  I was so mad I could have pissed nails.

On the upside, Todd nailed QOTR and everything else like a boss.  I was listening for flaws, but he was dead on.  Of course, it was a 30 minute gig, not 90.  And Mike Stone, when he wasn't making too many grand demands...  ;) sounded great but left most of the heavy lifting on the solos to Wilton.

Scorpions sounded like a well-oiled machine.  It was cool to see Motorhead's Mickey Dee on the skins and even cooler to hear them tear into Overkill like Lemmy was watching.

Even as an opener, 30 minutes is bullshit. Man, I would've been pissed too. Were there any other unhappy folks in the crowd? At least Scorpions delivered the goods.
That Man/Machine Imperfection guy didn't post too much, but he was pretty much always right.

Overall the Phoenix show was solid. I'd say three stars for both Queensryche and the Scorps. Just a regular working night for them I'm sure, nothing really special.

We got nine songs from Queensryche. Mike Stone did fine. I'm sure it was just "another gig" for him as well. Still, it was cool to see him onstage with them again  8)

Setlist:

Best I Can

Damaged

Empire

Guardian

Silent Lucidity

Queen Of The Reich

Jet City Woman

Screaming In Digital

Eyes Of A Stranger

I must admit I chuckled when La Torre said at the end of the show (like always) they're the "one and only Queensryche". When he introduced the members of the band one would think that Grillo and Stone were in there officially.

Be that as it may, they were pretty well-received by the Scorps audience though. Not surprisingly, Silent Lucidity got the loudest response of the set. After they played it, one fan yelled out..... "Where's Geoff at?".  ;D

Someone should've yelled out "Where have you been for the past six years?"  >:D

Thanks for posting your review.  Glad to hear the show was solid. I saw some clips online and Klaus Meine epitomizes the tired-old-man-who-can-still-sing-well-but-his-voice-is-obviously-old-and-tired archetype (which still makes him one of the best 70 year old non-opera/theater singers out there).  Shame that Casey's awesome new kit is being tested out in a large arena/theater setting where only the people close to the front can really appreciate it.

A new headlining show just popped on the local casino's marquee, so hopefully I'll be treated to a full two-hour set with some S/T and CH tunes, after all.  They need to throw in a teaser track from the upcoming release.  I can dream...

Didn't see anything on the tour dates page on the official band site, but there are a few listed on Facebook. Couple west coast casino dates and a February NY casino show. I hope that February casino show is the lead in to a proper full tour leg and not just the resumption of more sporadic fly in dates. We'll see. They said they were gonna ramp up the touring next year. As well as expand the setlist and add some different stuff. So I hope you get a taste of what's hopefully to come .  8)
