Queensryche Bonus Tracks/B Sides & Non Album Tracks
« on: December 30, 2017, 03:38:08 PM »
I believe this is a complete listing of all Queensryche's bonus tracks, B sides and non album recordings. Not counting the different demo's that have been circulated on you tube.

How does everyone rate these and which are your favorites and least favorites? also are there any more I'm forgetting or missing.

Last Time in Paris: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0bS0tEpCvo

Featured on the "Adventures of Ford Fairlane" soundtrack, the B side of "Another Rainy Night Without You". Also included on the Empire 20th Anniversary edition and "Sign of the Times" anthology release bonus disc.

Scarborough Fair (Simon and Garfunkel cover) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLPKM1W9mLY
A bonus track from the 20th Anniversary edition of Empire, also performed as part of the MTV Unplugged sessions. It was also included on the "Sign of the Times" anthology release bonus disc.

Dirty Lil Secret:      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iw8nnkHP23U
This was released on the 20th Anniversary edition of Empire and is also included on the "Sign of the Times" anthology release bonus disc.

Real World:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wk17qWpUT_k
Featured on the "Last Action Hero" soundtrack, and included on the "Sign of the Times" anthology release.

Justified: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjPXMBYwtsw
Originally intended for the Tribe album but not completed and released until the "Sign of the Times" anthology release and featured on the bonus disc.

Chasing Blue Sky: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFwAG5aEBiI
This is a bonus track on the "Hear in the Now Frontier" reissue and was also featured on the "Sign of the Times" anthology release.

Until There Was You: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mlg3hwGmi5k
This is an unreleased track from the Q2K album sessions that was later released on the Q2K reissue and also on "Sign of the Times" anthology release bonus disc.

Howl: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5JBPFryKGfg
Another previously unissued song from the Q2K sessions, this was released on the Q2K reissue.

Two Mile High: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6IrBb7cCBWk
from the Promised Land cd rom

Broken:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJLjqmkW9-s
This is a Dedicated to Chaos bonus track, not sure if this was a B side. This actually isn't too bad but very mellow.

Hard Times: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxtxdOt3P0w
Another Dedicated to Chaos bonus track. WOW.

LuvnU: another Dedicated to Chaos bonus track, I couldn't find this one, maybe that is a good thing  ;D

I Believe: Another Dedicated to Chaos bonus track. I couldn't find this one either.

Lastly the three bonus tracks from Condition Human,
Espiritu Muerto: here's the lyrics, the song is still not available publicly
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KyCXeV_N-do
46 North
Mercury Rising
The only way to get these is on the import releases that featured them.

Those dedicated to chaos bonus tracks you couldn't find were probably banned for being terrible  ;D
As for the condition human tracks, it's been just over two years now that the album was released and I can't believe those tracks haven't been leaked out on you tube, somebody must be doing a good job of keeping those off there.

They were actually on YouTube not too long after the release, but they disappeared pretty quickly.

Last Time in Paris: Such a random one-off song.  It never fit the vibe of Empire, even though it came out around that time.  I honestly dig the song and it shows a lighter side of the band.

Scarborough Fair (Simon and Garfunkel cover):  Great rock cover.  It has that quiet/build up/rock/quiet song sturcture.  It reminds me of Anybody Listening?, only not quite as dramatic/epic/cool.

Dirty Lil Secret:  Another song that I always liked.  I remember this being a bonus track on one of the Promised Land CD singles.  It has a bluesy/sleazy sound to it.  I like the slide guitar solo that turns into a non-slide solo.

Real World:  I really like Real World for the most part.  I'm not as big of a fan of the post-3 minute mark when the song speeds up.  Other than that, great song!

Justified:  Has a HITNF/Tribe feel to it as far as the sound/tone.  Not an epic song, but a decent one!

Chasing Blue Sky:  I first heard this song when it was on Televoid (Scott Rockenfield/Paul Speer colaboration - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KC1tE14v3Gc).  I like the QR version better.  A great mellow tune that feels like you should be listening to it on a lazy Sunday drive with the windows down.  While not overpowering, I think that the harmonica definitely adds to the song.

Until There Was You:  A good song, but the chorus doesn't seem to do a whole lot for me....it feels a bit out of place (for lack of a better term).

Howl: A really good rocking song.  I think that it would have made a really good addition to Q2K.  Cut Breakdown and add Howl.

Two Mile High:  This song always reminds me of Led Zeppelin's song That's the Way (which is one of my favorite LZ songs).  Kind of a funky video, but hey, it was mid-90's venure into computer imagery!

For the Dedicated To Chaos stuff - Not really a big fan of most of it.  For the most part, they are songs that would fit perfectly into a Geoff Tate solo CD.  But under the name of Queensryche....I don't think so.

Broken:  I try to like this song because I like the "sadness" of the song, but it just comes off as over-dramatic Geoff Tate garbage.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJLjqmkW9-s

Hard Times: More GT solo material.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxtxdOt3P0w

LuvnU:  More GT solo material.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpueKdhJGTg

I Believe: More GT solo material.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZ0M1C6Aheo

Espiritu Muerto:  Really cool song that should have made it to Condition Human.  Nice that it is still up on youtube!

46 North:  Really cool song that should have made it to Condition Human.  Glad I got to save it listen to it before it was taken down!

Mercury Rising:  Really cool song that should have made it to Condition Human.  Glad I got to save it listen to it before it was taken down!

White Christmas:  Haven't listened to it much as I prefer to have Christmas music remain traditional.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-XH_1-1U108

I kinda forgot about this one:

I Don't Believe In Love (Remix)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZCglnt8M2E

It's an interesting remix of the song.  The bad thing about this youtube video is that whoever the assclown is that made the "video" dropped the sound quality and also added a few extra sounds (most notably the "why'd you do it?", "I've had enough and I want out", "two ton heavy thing", "next message saved", "you can't walk away now" parts), which I think completely detract for the original remix.  It sounds a ton better in its original mp3 format.

From what I recall (and this is a looooong ass time ago), there was a guy that had the remix on his website.  I emailed him and asked about the song/remix/how he did it.  He basically said something along the lines of having a master tape of the song, so he was able to take the pieces of the song apart and remix them how he wanted.  The guy could have been full of shit, but everything sounded very professional and clean.  By clean, I mean that the instruments sounded individualized/isolated and didn't overlap each other.  And this was really before there was lots of audio software out there that might be able to help with isolating instruments/tracks.  Anyhow, I didn't really have any reason to doubt him.  As far as I can remember, this was the only "remix" track that was out there like this one.

The site was something like www.jimmy.net/wheels or www.wheels.net/jimmy.  Maybe another one of the old schoolers has more info on it.

That Rockenfield/Speer version of Chasing Blue Sky was pretty cool, other than the harmonica it doesn't really sound like the band changed it up all that much. I prefer the bands version though. But cool to hear that one.

LuvnU and I believe did absolutely nothing for me as expected  ::) I don't think either of those would have made the cut on the Trilogy albums.

Edit: Oh, and Espiritu Muerto isn't really available that is just a lyrics video with no sound, but better than nothing.

That was kind of cool to hear ,I like hearing the different instruments separated. Get some cool drum and bass work isolation. I'm surprised more of those aren't out there. I remember the late eighties had all those long play singles and dance remixes and they'd splice and mash songs together and goofy shit like that was popular at the time. They we're doing that with all different bands. I also remember in the bars/clubs at the time everybody had those keyboards that had all the animal sounds programmed they'd fuck around with sheep, dogs barking, elephants and goofy noises while doing songs, guess it was the new toy of the time  :D

Dance mix, you say?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxB6G2s9qkM

Disclaimer:  If you watch/listen to this video, you're either going to want to shove ice picks in your ears, or get so mind altering drunk that you erase this from your memory.  I'm not responsible for whatever you do to yourself to cleanse your soul of this shitfucktastic mix.  Honestly, this kind of late 90's club music must be what they play in Dante's 9th Circle of Hell on repeat.  Seriously, I feel bad for even posting this.  Does anyone have a belt sander I can use to cleanse myself?

I really like this. It changes things up just enough to be interesting but doesn't go completely overboard.

Unlike that dance mix of Silent Lucidity. I love dance mixes as much as the next guy, but seriously it's pretty shitty. Plus two fucking minutes to even figger out what's going on the song? WHO'S GOT THE TIME.
