D-A-D (Disneyland After Dark)
« on: December 08, 2017, 07:37:27 PM »
D-A-D originally formed as Disneyland After Dark (the band shortened their name to D-A-D after catching some legal threats from, yep, Disneyland) is a Danish rock band active since 1982 and still going. The bands original lineup consisted of singer Jesper Binzer, his brother Jacob Binzer (guitar), Stig Peterson (bass) and Peter Lundholm Jensen (drums). Laust Sonne replaced Jensen on drums in 1999. They released their debut album in 1986 "Call of the wild".  The bands international breakthrough came with the 1989 album "No fuel left for the pilgrims" with Sleeping the day away getting a good amount of airplay. The band never really succeeded at any major breakthrough in the US market so they mainly concentrated their efforts in Europe and enjoyed some good success. They have released eleven studio albums along with three live albums.

Wasn't real familiar with these guys, they have some good stuff. I'm surprised Sleeping My Day Away and some of the other songs on that album weren't bigger. Definitely fit well with some of the mainstream stuff in that time frame.

They had some modest popularity for a minute, they did manage to hang around and stay at it for all these years, so I guess they made enough dough to keep rollin.
