Eddie James "Son" House, Jr. was an American Delta blues singer and guitarist, noted for his slide playing. Son was born in 1902 and died in 1988 at the age of 86. Son was cited as a major inspiration to Robert Johnson and Muddy Waters, along with Alan Wilson of Canned Heat.
